Grants & Scholarships

Despite global advancements in medical care, around the world humans are still dying of diseases that are easily treated by doctors with adequate education and training. SWME believes that medical education plays a pivotal role in addressing the challenges of these underserved populations. The SWME’s Grants & Scholarships Program assists communities worldwide through the support and continued professional development of their leading doctors.

SWME provides restricted and unrestricted educational grants to support continuing medical education and the exchange of ideas leading to a better, safer, healthier world.

Medical Education Grants

SWME believes that continuing medical education is an integral piece for worldwide well-being, enhancing the level of patient care. With the support of the medical device industry, SWME is pleased to offer access to restricted medical education grants. These are available for healthcare professionals who benefit and are eligible to attend independent US-based Medical and Scientific Educational Meetings in their areas of expertise.

Our grant approval process is in accordance with the recommendations and the guidance of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education Standards of Commercial Support, the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice, the APACMed Code of Ethical Conduct, as well as internal policies.

Humanitarian Programs

SWME provides unrestricted educational grants to educational programs in developing countries, as well as sponsors continued medical education for doctors whose work has a humanitarian impact on their local community and who lack the funding to attend the world’s top continuing professional development activities.

SWME’s Humanitarian Programs are geared towards communities that are significantly disadvantaged in terms of their population’s access to quality healthcare, adequate medical facilities, and the resources required to treat diseases and improve their overall health and well-being.
