KNOW US BETTER

Our Legacy of Learning

Since 2013, the Society for Worldwide Medical Exchange (SWME) has championed global access to medical education through partnerships with academic institutions, medical associations, and nonprofit partners. Our programs have supported physicians from underserved communities by providing access to world-class clinical education, cross-border training, and global networking opportunities. We are proud of the hundreds of doctors who have taken part in our educational initiatives over the years. Their experiences and success stories are a testament to our founding belief: when doctors learn, patients thrive.

The Society for Worldwide Medical Exchange

SWME believes that medical education should be an ongoing process, through which doctors may continuously strengthen their abilities to effectively serve their patients and provide better care.

Our educational programs are designed to break down the physical and financial barriers to quality education and give the medical community around the world access to innovative live and online programs through breakthrough technology.

Program Archives

SWME launched its first series of international education programs, including joint CME workshops in cardiology, infectious disease, and general practice with participation from physicians in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Expanded offerings included neurology and trauma-focused trainings in partnership with academic hospitals in Europe. The year marked SWME’s first cross-continental physician exchange between institutions in Brazil and the United States.

Established the Emergency Medicine Exchange for Latin America, a flagship initiative offering simulation-based training and ER protocols for physicians in Peru, Bolivia, and Colombia.

Rolled out oncology and palliative care workshops for oncology fellows in Eastern Europe. Piloted a digital education platform to support remote participation in CME events.

Introduced the Global Nephrology Scholars Program, offering full travel grants to international nephrologists attending U.S.-based CME congresses. Partnered with industry sponsors to align with global compliance standards.

Delivered training on antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic stewardship in South America. Hosted capacity-building courses for primary care teams working in post-conflict zones.
